By doing so I need to share my reviews of shows I have seen so I thought I might as well share them by posting them on my blog. In my reviews I tried not to spoil anything except in my blood brothers one so if you want to see it without any spoliers please don’t read. Thankyou :)

Part B - An Arts Event.
As the Art I enjoy the most is Drama and Acting, I have seen a number of shows, from small local ones to ones in the West End. Shows such as ‘The Sound of Music’, ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘We Will Rock You’, I have also seen shows such as pantomimes and dance performances. I believe however my favourite show I have seen is Blood Brothers which I saw in The Hall for Cornwall and not in the West End unlike ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘The Sound of Music’.
Blood Brothers.
One of the events I have been to is Blood Brothers at the Hall for Cornwall, Blood Brothers is a West End musical about a mother from Liverpool who cannot afford for two more children in the house so gives one of her newly born twins to a rich family, the play is about the two brothers lives growing up. The play involves a 3 main art forms, acting, music and dancing. I went to this event because I adore West End musicals and I have heard from a number of people that it was one of the best ones to watch.
I liked the play because the acting in it was superb, all the actors were highly professional, and carried out a very dramatic atmosphere with the lighting and music at times the audience needed to be held tense. The play was really funny and sad at points when it was aimed to be, also the singing from the actors was phenomenal! And I loved the way some of the story was told through song.
There is not that much I didn’t enjoy about seeing Blood Brothers, I guess the one thing I would have preferred is seeing it in the West End rather than The Hall for Cornwall, London’s theatres are much more bigger and more exciting than Cornwall. But, I would love to see Blood Brothers again so if I have the chance of seeing it in London I will.
Blood Brothers is one of the best shows I have seen and I would defiantly recommend it to other people who enjoy musicals because the whole audience in the Hall for Cornwall enjoyed it and there was a standing ovation when it finished. Also when the two brothers died at the end of the play, a number of people including myself began to cry. I believe that as we grew to the characters on stage, we grew to love them and even though we knew it was going to happen we did not want it to and we felt the mother’s pain when she lost her two sons.
We Will Rock You.
I went to see We Will Rock You in The West End a few years ago, We Will Rock You is a musical based on Queen Songs. The musical included again, three forms of arts: music, acting and dancing. I went to see it because I enjoy Queen Music and I wanted to see Ben Eltons’ interpretation of presenting the music into a musical and I had heard reviews about it saying it was fantastic.
I enjoyed the musical because the music in it was outstanding and the actors were really great at singing the Queen songs. Also, I found the show really comical and the plot was different to other plays I have seen before.
Again, like Blood Brothers, there were not many things I didn’t enjoy about it. The theatre was phenomenal as it was in the Dominion Theatre in The West End. I wasn’t as close as I was in Blood Brothers however but that was not the performance’s fault. I believe the only fault I had with the play was they missed a few really good Queen Songs such as ‘the show must go on’ but they fitted in allot more songs than I expected.
I would recommend this musical because it is really funny and to people who enjoy Queen, they would really enjoy this musical, there are allot of Queen related lyrics in the script which makes it even funnier.
I have learnt from this experience that a great musical does not need its own songs to make it unique and different, by simply showing contribute to an artist and using a band’s songs can still make a successful one.
